Meestal zijn ze rood met zwarte stippen, maar bij het viervleklieveheersbeestje is het net andersom. Ik kwam er twee binnenshuis tegen, eentje in het atelier, de andere in de keuken. Ik vraag mij af of de larven die ik een maand terug vond ook van de viervlek waren. Op deze site zag ik dat ze ook gekweekt worden t.b.v. de biologische bestrijding van de wollige dopluis (Pulvinaria).

De larven vonden wij op bomen, maar zandgrond hebben we zeker niet.

Mostly they're red with black spots, but in the case of the Pine Ladybird it's the other way around. I came across two of them inside, one in the workshop and the other in the kitchen. I wonder whether the larvae I found a month ago were of the same species. At this site I saw that they are also cultivated as a biological control agent of the Cottony Cushion Scale (Pulvinaria).

We found the larvae on trees, but we certainly don't have sandy ground.

Ik hoorde van blogvolgers dat zij niet in de gaten hadden dat er links in mijn stukjes zaten, jammer want dan ontgaat ze heel wat informatie. De links vullen het verhaaltje meestal aan. Cursief, of een ander kleurtje kan een link betekenen. Ook een foto kan een link zijn. Wees creatief en laat de cursor door het blog dwalen.

From blog readers I heard that they weren't aware of the links in my pieces, which is a pity because then they miss a lot of info. In general, the links complement the story. Italics, or a different colour can signify a link. And a photo can also be a link. Be creative and let your cursor wander through the blog.
